Patient pays their own data (Ethio Telecom or Safaricom). ETN does not charge for data. A 30-min video uses ~90MB — costs patient ~ETB 18 from their own data bundle. ETN pays only the LiveKit server cost (~ETB 2.40) and SMS notifications.
📟 Patient on USSD (*8765# feature phone)
Patient’s USSD session costs them ~ETB 0.15–0.25 (from their airtime). ETN absorbs the doctor call-back cost: ETB 4.00 for a 10-min callback. This is subsidised for rural/CBHI patients.
🏛️ CBHI / Rural Patients (ETN absorbs all)
For government-insured and rural hardship patients, ETN absorbs both consultation and communication costs. ETN recovers these through the MOH CBHI contract invoice — billed monthly to the Ministry of Health at a negotiated per-patient capitation rate.
🌍 International / Diaspora Patients
